Shares in West Australian gold explorer Focus Minerals (ASX: FML) are up more than 5% on news of several high-grade intercepts from RC drilling at Brilliant North, part of the company’s Coolgardie gold project. All five RC holes intersected significant gold mineralisation, with hits including 36m at 6.36 grams per tonne from 186m and 45m at 3.15gpt from 63m. Notwithstanding the strong hits at Coolgardie, Focus’ priority is the highly prospective Laverton Gold Project, which includes the Lancefield, Chatterbox Trend, Sickle, Ida-H and Karridale-Burtville deposits and targets.
