Global Lithium Resources (ASX: GL1), today announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Southern Ports Authority for the future export of product from its flagship Manna Lithium Project near Kalgoorlie.
This non-binding MOU establishes a framework for cooperation and further evaluation of export logistics for spodumene concentrate to be exported through the Port of Esperance.
This follows the release of a Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS)1 for the Manna Lithium Project, which confirmed its robust economics and long-life potential.
Under the terms of the MOU, GL1 and Southern Ports will work together to assess the commercial and technical viability of exporting up to 240,000 metric tonnes per year of spodumene product through the Port of Esperance.
GL1 Managing Director Dr Dianmin Chen said securing efficient and reliable logistics was paramount for the future success of the Manna Lithium Project.
“This non-binding MOU with Southern Ports marks an important step in formalising our intentions to work together to explore the best possible export solutions through the Port of Esperance,” Dr Chen said.
