Birimian appoints Malian country manager

Aspiring West African lithium producer Birimian Limited (ASX: BGS) has appointed Seydou Semega as Mali country manager for the Company, effective from 1 April 2019. Mr Semega is a Malian national and a senior manager with extensive experience in executive leadership, business management and diplomacy. He was most recently Country Director for Digby Wells, the environmental consultants instrumental in Birimian receiving its recently granted Environmental Permit.


Aspiring West African lithium producer Birimian Limited (ASX: BGS) has appointed Seydou Semega as Mali country manager for the Company, effective from 1 April 2019.

Mr Semega is a Malian national and a senior manager with extensive experience in executive leadership, business management and diplomacy. He was most recently Country Director for Digby Wells, the environmental consultants instrumental in Birimian receiving its recently granted Environmental Permit.

Birimian looks forward to continuing the already established close relationship with Digby Wells for future environmental works on the Goulamina project. Mr Semega holds a Master in Business Management (MBA) from the University of Poitiers in France and a Bachelor of Arts in English.

Prior to being Country Director for Digby Wells in Mali, Mr Semega spent six years working for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Mali, where he served as Representative for West Africa, co-chairing the Foreign Service Nationals Advocacy Council, with a constituency of 5,000 employees worldwide.

Mr Semega is a seasoned professional who has worked as an administrative expert and project manager and has extensive experience in the mining industry and various other development-related sectors.
