NRW picks up RCR's mining technologies, heat treatment units for $10m

NRW Holdings (ASX: NWH) has pounced assets of the collapsed RCR Tomlinson, striking a $10 million deal to pick up the erstwhile peer's mining technologies and heat treatment business. The RCR Mining and RCR Heat Treatment units formed part of the original RCR business and are based in the Perth suburb of Welshpool and in Bunbury, employing about 300 people. Combined, the two units generated about $110 million of revenue last financial year. NRW will fund the deals out of cash reserves and expects to settle the acquisitions within the next two weeks.

NRW updates on Forrestfield-Airport link, reiterates guidance

Diversified mining and civil contractor NRW Holdings (ASX: NWH) has provided an update on the Forrestfield-Airport Link construction project, being undertaken by the Salini Impregilo-NRW Joint Venture. NRW, a 20% joint venture participant, said construction progress was about four months behind schedule due predominantly to tunnel boring machine stoppages. NRW said remediation options for the Dundas Road cross passage tunnel segments were still being assessed. NRW said it did not anticipate any change to its 20 November revenue and earnings guidance.
