St George Mining provides March quarter report

Emerging Western Australian nickel company St George Mining Limited (ASX: SGQ) has presented its quarterly activities report for the period ended 31 March. Highlights include commencement of a major reverse circulation drill program at the Mt Alexander nickel project, which has successfully identified new zones of nickel sulphide mineralisation and increased the potential scale of the mineralised envelope at the Cathedrals Belt.

VRX Silica releases March quarter report

VRX Silica (ASX: VRX) has provided its summary of activities conducted by the company during the quarter ended March 31. The company spent the reporting period advancing its three silica sand projects in WA, all of which now have Mineral Resource estimates. The combined mining lease applications for these projects now amount to an aggregate 6,546Ha with a significant inventory of over 400Mt of Silica Sand at an average 98.7% SiO2.

Birimian keeps focus on Goulamina in March qtr

Aspiring West African lithium producer Birimian Limited (ASX: BGS) says its Goulamina Lithium Project in Mali remained the principal operational focus of the Company during the March 2019 quarter. Three areas have been targeted for completion by the third quarter of 2019 to form the basis of Project design; Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves, metallurgical recovery and concentrate quality, and water and road infrastructure optimisation.

Core Lithium reveals Finniss DFS

Emerging Northern Territory lithium producer Core Lithium (ASX: CXO) has released the Definitive Feasibility Study for its Finniss Lithium Project, located near Darwin in the Northern Territory. The DFS confirms that Core is well positioned to be the next lithium producer in Australia, with a low-risk, open pit mining operation and DMS processing up to 180,000tpa of high-quality lithium concentrate with robust margins.

Northern Minerals appoints new director to board

Australian heavy rare earths producer Northern Minerals (ASX: NTU) has appointed Congyan Xue to its board as a non-executive director, effective immediately. Mr Xue is a corporate finance executive, with over 15 years’ experience in fundraising, corporate advisory and mergers and acquisitions, predominantly in China. Mr Xue is a Chinese citizen and resides in Beijing.
