Goldfields Money - appoints new Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary
Goldfields Money (ASX: GMY) has announced the appointment of Malcolm Cowell as its new Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary. Mr Cowell has vast experience across a number of industries, most recently as Audit Director at KPMG in Perth. Goldfields Money Chief Executive Officer Simon Lyons said the appointment was integral to the continued growth of the banking services provider.
Banking services provider Goldfields Money Limited (ASX: GMY) is pleased to announce the appointment of Malcolm Cowell to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Company Secretary.
Mr Cowell has extensive financial experience across a number of industries, most recently as Audit Director at KPMG in Perth. Prior to joining KPMG in 2001, Mr Cowell was a Credit Analyst at the Commonwealth Bank.
He has acted as an auditor to companies listed on the ASX, and the Toronto Stock Exchange over a distinguished career. His experience spans financial statement audits and regulatory audits, including compliance plans, Australian Financial Services License, ASX/ACH internal controls and annual returns, SIS compliance and APRA Prudential Standards (ADIs and superannuation funds), managed discretionary accounts, investor directed portfolio services as well as native title trusts.
Importantly for Goldfields Money, Mr Cowell has successfully delivered several advisory engagements which include credit risk reviews, regulator prudential review preparation, internal control effectiveness, unit pricing, IT system implementation project governance, accounting advice and transaction support.
Goldfields Money regards this experience as central to his success in the role of CFO.

Mr Cowell will be based at the Goldfields Money corporate headquarters in Perth, Western Australia, and take up his new role on the 1st March.
Mr Cowell will replace Michael Verkuylen, who has resigned to take up a role as the CFO of Keystart Home Loans in Perth. The board of Goldfields Money thanks Mr Verkuylen for his five years of service and wishes him well for the future
