Italy-focused Alta Zinc (ASX: AZI) has highlighted the early promise of the Punta Corna cobalt exploration project, where preliminary grab and rock chip samples returned high grades of cobalt and copper. The assays included grades as high as 3.39% Co and 2.54% nickel, 3.11% Co and 2.82% nickel, 6.08% Cu and 0.97% tin, and 3.76% Cu and 2.34% tin. Alta has applied for an exploration licence for Punta Corna, which like its core Gorno zinc project is in northern Italy.
