Sheffield Resources (ASX:SFX) has welcomed Independence Group as a joint venture partner on its Fraser Range tenements in Western Australia. Under the deal, Independence will pay Sheffield $500,000 upfront for a 51% interest in four granted tenements in the region and can increase its interest to 70% by spending $5 million on exploration over the next five years. Sheffield is due to deliver the bankable feasibility study on its Thunderbird mineral sands project in the March quarter of 2017.
Sheffield Resources (ASX:SFX) has released its September quarterly report detailing progress with its Thunderbird Mineral Sands Project near Derby in Western Australia's north. The quarterly shows the Company finished the quarter with $16 million in cash, enough to complete the Thunderbird Bankable Feasibility Study and continue exploration in the region. Sheffield also reported that discussions have begun with potential customers and a number of product samples have been dispatched.
Sheffield Resources (ASX:SFX) has reported further positive results from metallurgical testwork completed as part of the Bankable Feasibility Study (BFS) on its Thunderbird Mineral Sands Project, near Derby in northern Western Australia. The metallurgical testwork, which was completed on a 40-tonne bulk sample representative of the initial 6-7 years of feed, enabled process flowsheet optimisation and improved recoveries for both ilmenite and zircon products.
Emerging mineral sands company Sheffield Resources (ASX:SFX)has received commitments to raise up to $17.1 million through a share placement priced at 52c a share. The placement will see a number of new domestic and international institutions join the Sheffield register. Funds raised will primarily be used to completed the Bankable Feasibility Study on the Company's Thunderbird mineral sands project in Western Australia and progress exploration on the nearby Night Train discovery.
Zenith Minerals (ASX:ZNC) has announced further high grade gold results from the Kavaklitepe Project in Turkey, a JV with Teck. The latest results from the trial project include 3m @ 5.5g/t Au from surface, 1.2m @ 10.8g/t Au from 14.7m and 6.3m @ 4.3g/t Au from surface. The trial program has confirmed mineralisation over 360m of the expected 900m trend. Drilling is continuing on two other prospects.

Sheffield Resources (ASX:SFX) has updated the Mineral Resource for its Thunderbird Mineral Sands Project near Derby in Western Australia, with the highlight a doubling of tonnes in the Measured category. The new Mineral Resource, which was updated to include 110 infill holes drilled in the "up-dip" region of the deposit, stands at 3.23 billion tonnes grading 6.9% heavy minerals. The Measured category of the resource has increased to 220Mt at 14.5% HM.

Mineral sands developer Sheffield Resources (ASX:SFX) has appointed Neil Patten-Williams as Marketing Manager as it moves its world-class Thunderbird project in north-west Western Australia towards production. Mr Patten-Williams is a highly respected marketing executive in the mineral sands industry, having previously worked as Sales and Marketing Manager for established producer Doral Minerals.
