Ventnor Resources Limited (ASX:VRX) has announced a total indicated and inferred mineral resource of 191 million tonnes at 99.6% SiO2, including an indicated resource of 19Mt at 99.7% SiO2, for its Muchea silica sand project north of Perth. The large maiden mineral resource of high-grade silica sand vindicates the company's decision to acquire the project. Further deeper drilling is expected to significantly increase the resource.

The prospect has an inferred mineral resource of 193.6 million tonnes at 98 per cent silicon dioxide, being 38 per cent larger than Ventnor's previous exploration target. The project area has only been tested with shallow auger. Further drilling planned for late 2018 will use deeper aircore drill holes and is expected to add substantially to the maiden resource.

Ventnor Resources (ASX: VRX) has come from nowhere to become a market darling, with its share price more than doubling over the past month as investors warm to the Perth company’s silica story. The news was rounded out by the announcement of a maiden resource for its Arrowsmith North prospect north of Perth. Ventnor shares, at 6.6c a month ago, last traded at 13c after reaching 17.5c last week - levels not seen since late 2013.

Ventnor Resources Limited (ASX:VRX) has released bulk sampling results from its auger drill program at the Arrowsmith silica sand project north of Perth. Ventnor’s drilling included a hand-held auger drilling program of 123 holes to obtain adequate sample for bulk testwork. A full analysis of all the quality control data has now been assessed. Importantly, the analysis validates the hand auger sample assay dataset and conforms with the guidelines for reporting under the JORC-2012 code.

Drilling is set to commence in September, after the Department of Mines, Industry and Safety granted a program of work for exploration.
