NRW Holdings’ (ASX:NWH) wholly owned subsidiary, NRW Contracting has been awarded an airport upgrade contract with BHP at its Olympic Dam project located in Roxby Downs, South Australia.
The scope of works includes two separable portions:

Separable portion 1: Airside works

Includes bulk earthworks, pavement construction and drainage works for the construction of a new 1860m long runway and refurbishment of the existing taxiway and extension of the apron areas.

Separable portion 2: Landside works

Includes reinforced concrete works, structural steel and modular structures and all services for the upgrade of the existing terminal building and the surrounding infrastructure.

The new contract value is circa $48 million and is expected to have a duration of approximately 37 weeks with works commencing in late March 2020. The project will have an expected peak workforce of approximately 140 (including subcontractors).

“NRW has a long history with BHP in their Iron Ore, Coal and Nickel divisions but this contract marks the first project for the Copper operations. I look forward to the safe and successful execution of the works.”
Bunbury Outer Ring Road Project
NRW Holdings Limited (ASX:NWH) is also pleased to advise that it is a member of the Southwest Connex Alliance, (comprising Acciona, NRW Contracting, MACA Civil, AECOM and Aurecon) which has been shortlisted to participate as one of two proponents in the RFP stage for Alliance Contract 213/8 – Bunbury Outer Ring Road.
The RFP package is expected to be issued in early April followed by an interactive proposal development process. It is anticipated an alliance contract will be awarded before the end of the year with construction of the project to begin in 2021, subject to environmental and heritage approvals.
