NRW secures $960m Karara contract extension

Leading national mining and civil contractor NRW Holdings (ASX: NWH) has announced that its Mining division has received a Letter of Award for the Karara mining services contract.

The award extends NRW’s tenure at the Karara iron ore mine, in Western Australia’s Mid West region, by a further five years beyond the current term of March 2027, with a new completion date of February 2032.

The value of the contract extension is approximately $960 million.

Under the extended term, the scope of services to be delivered by NRW remains largely unchanged and includes load and haul, drill and blast, plus ancillary services.

Commenting on the contract award, NRW chief executive Jules Pemberton said:

“We are pleased to secure this significant contract extension, which reflects the strong relationship developed between NRW and Karara and the consistent performance of our team to deliver safe and reliable operations at site.”
