Emerging WA nickel company St George Mining (ASX: SGQ) says the latest assays received for drilling at the Mt Alexander Project, located near Leonora in the northern Goldfields, have confirmed further high-grade nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation along a +400m strike at the Stricklands Prospect. Laboratory assays have confirmed thick intersections of mineralisation at Stricklands. MAD105 and MAD106 were drilled in the far west of the Stricklands prospect area, and the results from these drill holes indicate that mineralisation is open to the west.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Thick intersections of nickel-copper-cobalt-PGE mineralisation confirmed by the latest assays from drilling at the Stricklands Prospect
- Multiple intersections of high-grade mineralisation continue to extend the known nickelcopper sulphides across the +400m strike of Stricklands
- Additional areas of Stricklands have yet to be drilled offering potential for further extensions of the mineralised ultramafic
Emerging West Australian nickel company St George Mining Limited (ASX: SGQ) (“St George” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce that the latest assays received for drilling at the Mt Alexander Project, located near Leonora in the northern Goldfields, have confirmed further high-grade nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation along a +400m strike at the Stricklands Prospect; see Figure 1.
Laboratory assays have confirmed the following thick intersections of mineralisation at Stricklands:
- MAD88 intersected a total of 11.6m of nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation based on an aggregation of the following mineralised intervals which returned assays of:
- 1.78m @ 0.36%Ni, 0.38%Cu, 0.02%Co and 0.59g/t total PGEs from 56m to 57.78m
- 3.92m @ 2.10%Ni, 0.93%Cu, 0.09%Co and 2.09g/t total PGEs from 57.78m to 61.7m
- 3.55m @ 0.51%Ni, 0.33%Cu, 0.03%Co and 0.77g/t total PGEs from 66m to 69.55m
- 1.31m@ 3.59%Ni, 0.47%Cu, 0.18%Co and 2.26g/t total PGEs from 69.55m to 70.86m
- 1.05m @ 0.63%Ni, 0.30%Cu, 0.04%Co and 0.47%g/t total PGEs from 72.25m to 73.3m
- MAD104 intersected 6.25m of nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation that returned assays of:
- 6.25m @ 2.36%Ni, 1.00%Cu, 0.15%Co and 1.25g/t total PGEs from 67.2m to 73.45m Including:
- 3.34m @ 3.01%Ni, 1.12%Cu, 0.20%Co and 1.41g/t total PGEs from 70.11m to 73.45m
- MAD105 intersected 12.4m of nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation that returned assays of:
- 5.9m @ 1.80%Ni, 0.81%Cu, 0.08%Co and 1.73g/t total PGEs from 35.6m to 41.5m, and
- 6.5m @ 0.45%Ni, 0.17%Cu, 0.03%Co and 0.31g/t total PGEs from 41.5m to 48m
- MAD106 intersected 6.3m of nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation that returned assays of:
- 4.85m @ 0.63%Ni, 0.31%Cu, 0.03%Co and 0.68g/t total PGEs from 59m to 63.85m and
- 1.45m @ 4.12%Ni, 0.99%Cu, 0.19%Co and 3.05g/t total PGEs from 63.85m to 65.3m
MAD105 and MAD106 were drilled in the far west of the Stricklands prospect area (see Figure 1), and the results from these drill holes indicate that mineralisation is open to the west.
