Buru Energy Limited (ASX: BRU), as operator, is pleased to provide the following update on the Ungani 8H development well being drilled by the Ensign 963 drilling rig.
Buru and Roc Oil (Canning) Pty Ltd each have a 50% equity interest in the well and in the L20 Production Licence, which is located in the onshore Canning Basin east of Broome, Western Australia.
The Ungani 8H well surface location is on L20, 700m to the north north-west of the Ungani 1 and 2 surface well locations and the Ungani production facility.
Since the last report, the 20-inch (508mm) surface conductor has been successfully set at 49.5m measured depth and the well has been drilled ahead to a section depth of 991m in 17½ inch (445mm) hole. The 13⅜ inch (340mm) casing has now been installed to a measured depth of 988m and successfully pressure tested.
The current operation, as of 6am on 29 December, is drilling ahead at 1,050m in 12¼ inch (311mm) hole to the 9⅝ inch (244mm) casing setting depth at approximately 2,565m measured depth at the top of the Ungani Dolomite reservoir section. The Ungani Dolomite horizontal reservoir section will then be drilled in 8½ inch (216mm) hole.
Operations to date have proceeded as planned with no incidents.
