Australian Mines recruits Marcus Hughes as CFO

Australian Mines (ASX: AUZ) has recruited Fortescue Metals Group finance group manager Marcus Hughes as the company's chief financial officer, as the company edges closer to transitioning from explorer to producer. Mr Hughes is a highly experienced finance professional, and is well-credentialed in capital raisings and project finance structuring.

NRW wins $500m contract extension

NRW Holdings (ASX: NWH) subsidiary Golding Contractors has won a $500 million extension to its existing contract for mining services work at Stanmore Coal's Isaac Plains East operation. The extension will see Golding conduct work at the project through to June 2024.

Doray Minerals and Silver Lake Resources to merge

Doray Minerals (ASX: DRM) and Silver Lake Resources (ASX: SLR) have announced plans to merge to create a cashed-up, mid-tier $420m valued ASX gold producer with pro-forma output this year of 240,000 ounces of gold and gold equivalents. The merged group will operate the profitable Deflector and Mount Monger mines in Western Australia. The merger is being done via a scheme of arrangement, with Doray being folded into Silver Lake.

Goldfields Money appoints Nunes as group CFO

Goldfields Money (ASX: GMY) has appointed Jussi Nunes as the new group Chief Financial Officer. He will assume the position on December 10 and become a member of the Bank's executive management team. The Group CFO positionis a new appointment to the Bank, with Jussi assuming overall responsibility for both the banking and aggregation activities of the group. Malcolm Cowell will continue as the CFO of the banking activities of the Bank and will report to Jussi in his new role. 

NRW subsidiary Golding wins ECI work with Fitzroy

NRW Holdings Ltd (ASX:NWH) subsidiary Golding Contractors has been awarded an Early Contractor Involvement contract for the provision of project development services at Fitzroy Australia Resources' Ironbark No. 1 Coal Mine. The scope is for the provision of detailed design, costing and project scheduling for the civil and mining services required to develop the mine. It is anticipated that the construction will start in second quarter 2019 should Fitzroy proceed with Golding.

Core drops "Exploration" for "Lithium"

Core Exploration (ASX: CXO) has dropped the "Exploration" from its name for "Lithium", reflecting the company's transition from explorer to producer of lithium in 2019. Core Lithium is on track to achieve first production at its Finniss Lithium Project in the NT by the end of next year, with a Definitive Feasibility Study on the project due out by the end of this month.

Golden Rim unearths high-grade gold at Kouri

Golden Rim Resources (ASX: GMR) says trenching work at its 1Moz Kouri gold project in Burkina Faso has exposed significant new gold mineralisation immediately outside the current mineral resource in areas not yet tested by drilling. Channel rock chip sampling of this gold mineralisation along the trenches has outlined additional gold lodes. A 3,000m RC drilling program is on schedule to begin in late November.
