Golden Rim Resources (ASX: GMR) says it has commenced a 3,000m reverse circulation drilling program at its wholly-owned Kouri gold project in Burkina Faso. The planned drilling program is comprised of approximately 24 holes ranging from 120m – 150m in depth and is being conducted under the drilling-for-equity agreement the company has with Ausdrill. The program is expected to take about 3 weeks to complete.
Emerging West African gold developer, Golden Rim Resources Ltd (ASX: GMR) (Golden Rim or the Company) is pleased to announce that a 3,000m reverse circulation (RC) drilling program has commenced at its 100% owned Kouri Gold Project (Kouri) in Burkina Faso.
The planned drilling program is comprised of approximately 24 holes ranging from 120m – 150m in depth and is being conducted under the drilling-for-equity agreement the Company has with Ausdrill Limited. Subject to the results from the infill auger drilling that is currently underway, as well as the Structural Study and the Mineral Resource update – all of which are expected later this month – the drilling program is planned to target the following areas:
-
gold lodes newly identified in recent trenching, including a broad zone of intense mineralisation outside the current limit of the Mineral Resource drilling (Figure 1), which returned two parallel intercepts of 3.3m at 3.2g/t gold, including 1m at 9.3g/t gold; and 23m at 2.5g/t gold, including 1m at 38.8g/t gold. This mineralised zone is interpreted to be a northeast extension of the Diabouga Lodes with the closest drilling on the Diabouga Lodes being 700m to the southwest;
-
auger bedrock anomalies at Guitorga West, Guitorga North and Red Hill (Figure 1);
-
the river channel area between Guitorga West and the Mineral Resource; and
-
targets identified by the Structural Study, including potential high-grade gold shoot areas within and beneath the Mineral Resource.
Golden Rim’s Managing Director, Craig Mackay, said:
“Our exploration work over the past few months has identified a number of exciting new target areas such as Red Hill, Guitorga West and the new broad zone of gold mineralisation that lies immediately outside our 1Moz Mineral Resource.”
“We are pleased to be starting our new RC drilling program to test these targets.”
“We expect the drilling program will take approximately 3 weeks to complete and we look forward to keeping shareholders updated as results become available.”
