Golden Rim Resources (ASX: GMR) has returned highly significant RC drilling results at its Red Hill prospect, located just southwest of its 1.4 million ounce Kouri gold project in Burkina Faso. The company is of the view that the magnetic anomalies are associated with cross-cutting shear zones that form part of the prospective Samira Hill Fault system, which extends for 40km through Kouri. Golden Rim’s 3,000m RC program has therefore been extended.

Highly significant shallow gold intercept of 11m at 3.4 g/t gold from 16m, including 2m at 11.1g/t gold (NKRC047) returned at Red Hill in the intersection area of two major magnetic high anomalies.

Magnetic anomalies believed to be associated with cross-cutting shear zones that form part of the highly prospective Samira Hill Fault system which extends for 40km through Kouri.

Two additional holes completed within the magnetic anomalies, and potentially along strike from NKRC047, also intersected significant gold mineralisation. These intercepts include:

7m at 1.9 g/t gold from 34m (NKRC046) (located 500m northwest of NKRC047); and

9m at 0.7g/t gold from 25m (NKRC050) (located 600m southwest of NKRC047).

The current 3,000m RC drilling program at Kouri has been extended to allow for further follow-up drilling at the highly prospective Red Hill prospect.

Infill auger drilling has intersected more highly gold anomalous bedrock at Red Hill, Guitorga West, Guitorga North and Kom South, including: 444 ppb, 391 ppb and 388 ppb gold.

The Structural Study undertaken by SRK Consulting has been completed. A number of new target areas for exploration have been outlined.

Follow-up reverse circulation (RC) drilling, comprising 5 holes (NKRC046 – NKRC050) for 604m, has been carried out at Red Hill, located 4.5km southwest of the 1.4Moz Mineral Resource at Kouri.
