Australian heavy rare earths producer Northern Minerals Limited (ASX: NTU) is pleased to update shareholders on its activities for the quarter ending 30 September 2021.
During the quarter, Northern Minerals made further product sales – 39 tonnes of heavy rare earth carbonate – to thyssenkrupp Materials Trading GmbH and successfully completed 8,700m of exploration drilling at Browns Range, in WA’s Kimberley. Preliminary field pXRF results from the Rockslider and Banshee South prospects indicate broad yttrium anomalism.
Meanwhile, bulk sample ore sorter test work was completed on stockpiled ore from Wolverine, the largest orebody at Browns Range. Preliminary ore sorting tests on Banshee costean material also showed amenability to sorting, with further test work planned. An effective sorting of the lower-grade Banshee material has the potential to increase the Browns Range Mineral Resource Estimate.
