Leading national mining and civil contractor NRW Holdings (ASX: NWH) has appointed David Joyce to the board as an independent non-executive director, effective from 19 March 2024
Mr Joyce is a mining executive with more than 37 years’ experience delivering major projects in Australia and internationally. This experience includes delivering the required infrastructure, services, processing facilities and initial mining developments (underground and open pit) for both greenfield and brownfield developments around the world.
Mr Joyce retired from his executive role as Global Head of Projects with Rio Tinto at the end of 2021 after a 17-year career with that organisation. The role saw him tasked with establishing and leading a new centralised global project and study team for all projects of a value greater than US$250 million. Prior to that he was Managing Director Expansion Projects (Iron Ore).
Mr Joyce brings to the NRW board an uncompromising focus on health, safety and risk together with a track record of strong support and respect for indigenous and local communities.
“David’s appointment to the NRW board brings a vast level of experience in the resources sector and is seen as a natural complement to both the existing board and NRW’s position at the forefront of Australian contracting companies,” NRW managing director Jules Pemberton said.
