Leading national mining and civil contractor NRW Holdings (ASX: NWH) has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Golding Contractors Pty Ltd, has signed a four-year extension to the existing contract mining agreement (CMA) with Aberdare Collieries Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of CS Energy Pty Ltd.
CS Energy owns the Kogan Creek mine, which supplies black coal to the Kogan Creek power station via a 4km overland conveyor.
Under the terms of the CMA, the term is extended until 30 June 2030, with an option for CS Energy to extend the contract up to a further two years.
The value of the four-year extension including mine plan scope changes is approximately $245 million.
Golding will supply all major equipment under the CMA, with the extension requiring new capital spend of approximately $10 million in FY25.
Golding will continue to employ up to 100 people at the project, most of whom live in the local Chinchilla or broader South East Queensland regions.
