Emerging WA nickel stock St George Mining’s (ASX: SGQ) continues to make solid progress on developing its Mt Alexander project, with its best ever intercept at the Investigators prospect announced today. Executive chairman John Prineas said it was a particularly exciting intercept as there were strong conductors located up-dip and down plunge of the massive sulphides identified by MAD126, giving the company confidence that drilling will intersect more massive sulphides in what St George believes could be a significant channelised flow.
HIGHLIGHTS:
-
14.37m interval of nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation intersected in MAD126 starting from 177.5m downhole comprising:
-
MAD126 intercept is shaping as the best ever at the Investigators Prospect
-
Massive sulphides include coarse grained pentlandite as evidenced by spot XRF readings ranging from 28%Ni to 37%Ni*
-
Strong electromagnetic (EM) conductors located updip and down plunge from MAD126 support potential for significant continuity of high-grade mineralisation
-
St George’s 100% strike rate of high-grade nickelcopper sulphide conductors across the Cathedrals Belt continues
* Laboratory assays are pending and are required to confirm the nickel and copper grades which have been estimated using portable XRF analysis
Emerging Western Australian nickel company St George Mining Limited (ASX: SGQ) (“St George” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce an outstanding intersection of nickel-copper sulphides at the Investigators Prospect within the Mt Alexander Project, near Leonora in the north-eastern Goldfields.
John Prineas, St George Mining’s Executive Chairman, said:
“The intersection in MAD126 is shaping up as our best ever at the Investigators Prospect.
“This is a particularly exciting intercept as there are strong conductors located up-dip and down plunge of the massive sulphides identified by MAD126, giving us confidence that drilling will intersect more massive sulphides in what we believe may be a significant channelised flow.
”Our drilling is continuing to scope out the scale of the discovery at Mt Alexander with MAD126 another outstanding result that has extended the footprint of high-grade mineralisation.”
Drill hole MAD126 is positioned on the MAD111 Line being drilled at the Investigators Prospect, located on the Cathedrals Belt where exploration by St George has established a 4.5km strike of high-grade nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation.
