The bulls outnumbering the bears at Diggers & Dealers this year. Cannings Purple’s Investor Insight team explain.
After a few lean years in terms of investor sentiment, it was definitely a case of the bulls outnumbering the bears at Diggers this year.
There were plenty of good presentations and booth conversations to be had over the three days, however there were a few key takeaways from the three day gabfest.
1. Exploration is not a dirty word – After years of cash preservation and frugal exploration efforts, it was pleasing to hear speaker after speaker talking up their exploration efforts, and more importantly, their exploration budgets.
2. Brokers can sniff out a deal – The shear number of brokers and analysts in attendance was impressive. There was a sea of dealers there from Hartleys, Patersons and Bell Potter, with a good showing from a number of other houses. Its fair to say that the majority of them left Kal with the next cap raise in their sights.
3. Diggers knows how to put on a good show – It’s a pretty impressive logistical feat to stage a conference of this magnitude in Kalgoorlie. There was no shortage of high quality food and drinks, capped off by the always impressive Gala Dinner. Salute.
