The prestigious award recognises the decision by Gold Road to partner with Gold Fields (JSE: GFI, NYSE: GFI) to become a 50% joint venture partner in the world‐class Gruyere Gold Project.
The award citation by Kate Stokes, the owner of the Diggers & Dealers forum, recognised Gold Road’s “mature and commercial approach to asset development. Gold Road Managing Director and CEO Ian Murray said “Diggers & Dealers’ recognition of the strategic value creation from this Joint Venture transaction was pleasing.”
“At Gold Road, we are very proud of the quality of our team and I’d like to recognise their tremendous work in delivering the transformational Gruyere Joint Venture,” Mr Murray said.
“In addition to Gruyere, we are focused on the next major area of growth for our shareholders, with A$30 million being spent this year on further exploring the Yamarna Greenstone Belt.”
Gold Road Chairman Tim Netscher said “the Board’s focus had been to achieve a deal that delivered a win‐win outcome for all.”
“In all transactions, both parties need to walk away in the belief that they will deliver shared success. The negotiations with Gold Fields were built on trust and mutual respect. I’d like to recognise the advice provided to the Board by our executive team and our external advisors,” Mr Netscher said.
